Berk-Tek, Legrand|Ortronics to Present at Datacenter Conference

Berk-Tek, a Nexans Company, and Legrand|Ortronics, which manufactures high-performance copper and fiber structured cabling systems, will be presenting at the Datacenter Dynamics conference and Expo on March 10 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. Brian Ensign, technology director for Legrand’s data communications division, will present a session titled “Intelligent Infrastructure Investment: Data Center Network Infrastructure Design for Maximum Value.”

The conference is aimed at networking professionals who design, build and operate datacenter facilities, and it addresses the challenges data center owners and operators face in meeting the complex combination of required service delivery, technology advances, energy-efficiency, resilience and security.

The speaker program draws on a pool of international industry experts. Ensign’s presentation will examine how a properly designed and strategically deployed passive network infrastructure can provide a flexible, energy-efficient, reliable and cost-effective datacenter environment for years to come. Often viewed as simply a component of the physical facility, the passive data center network infrastructure can play an important role in maximizing operational efficiency, optimizing server consolidation and virtualization, guaranteeing uninterrupted network and application availability and extending the useful life of the datacenter.

Together Berk-Tek and Legrand|Ortronics offer an integrated approach to designing and implementing foundational network elements critical to a data center environment. NetClear is the co-engineered result of this “layer one” network infrastructure. All NetClear systems ensure application availability and technical evolution by providing robust, high-performance channels for the complex and challenging datacenter environments of today and tomorrow.

    A8V MIND

Hexagon’s Geosystems presents a portable version of its Accur8vision detection system. A rugged all-in-one solution, the A8V MIND (Mobile Intrusion Detection) is designed to provide flexible protection of critical outdoor infrastructure and objects. Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area.
