Morse Watchmans Adds Hand Reader Option To KeyWatcher, KeyBank

Morse Watchmans is featuring a hand geometry interface at ISC West 2011 that can be integrated with any of their KeyWatcher or KeyBank system cabinets. The hand reader function provides additional security measures for accessing the cabinets and can be used in conjunction with the keypad or other access devices.

“Biometrics offer an advanced level of security, and hand geometry technology is one of the most accurate technologies,” said Fernando Pires, VP of sales and marketing for Morse Watchmans. “The hand reader option extends the parameters of the key control and asset management solution and provides the user with additional flexibility in configuring a system to meet their needs.”

The HandKeyCR, manufactured by Schlage, recognizes hand size and shape and matches the handprint to the template originally stored for that employee ID number. If there is a match, access is granted and the entry is recorded. The hand reader features an expandable memory and is field upgradeable. Integrated with Morse Watchmans key cabinets, it can be used together with a PIN or other access device to provide increased security. The HandkeyCR is available now.

The Morse Watchmans line of key management and asset control solutions provides control over who can remove a key or stored property. The modular, scalable system is interoperable with access control and other systems. Advanced communications capabilities enable users to know who removed any key or item and when it was taken.
