Software House Announces Integration with HID EDGEReader

Software House, part of Tyco Security Products, announced the integration of C•CURE 9000 with HID Global’s EDGE family of IP-based access control solutions.

With the addition of HID’s EDGEReader to its product family, C•CURE 9000 customers can choose from a wide range of solutions to fit any size application, budget or security protocol. Whether used in a new installation or added to an existing system, the benefits of the integration are quickly realized.

“Software House is already a leader in IP-based access control at the edge with our iSTAR Edge IP-based full-featured controller. Integration to the HID EDGEReader further strengthens our IP leadership and gives customers a wider range of edge-based solutions.” said Warren Brown, director of product management for Tyco Security Products.

HID EDGEReader is a single door, IP-based edge reader complete with door controller capabilities. The compact enclosure houses both the door controller and reader to provide distributed intelligence and decision-making right at the door. The reader, in conjunction with C•CURE 9000, administers standard access control functionality such as unlocking a door using a card, on a schedule, and with manual actions. Standard events such as door forced and door held alarms as well as door and communication status’ are managed through the C•CURE 9000 system.

The integration allows HID EDGEReader objects to be created, viewed, and updated through the C•CURE 9000 hardware tree. EDGEReader door icons can be added to graphical map displays and used to issue lock and unlock commands, and every activity and alarm is written to the core C•CURE 9000 database for journal and audit trail reporting.

Software House offers branded models of HID’s EDGEReader: ERP40 multiCLASS, ER40 iCLASS and the E400 EDGEPlus one-reader model.
