Protection 1 Names Michael Keen as Vice President of Strategic Accounts

Protection 1, an electronic security company, has appointed Michael Keen as vice president of strategic accounts. Keen’s role will be that of a customer advocate, working with Protection 1 national and strategic accounts to further develop the understanding of customer needs and help shape the company strategy to meet and exceed customer expectations.

“Michael’s track record for building customer relationships and trust is a perfect fit with the Protection 1 culture of providing exceptional service to every one of our customers,” said Protection 1 President and CEO Timothy J. Whall. “I have no doubt that he will have tremendous success working closely with our national account managers and 1-Touch Center teams to ensure we continually advance our unique approach to serving the national account customer.”

Keen’s background is evidence of the diverse group of people Protection 1 has been recruiting both in and out of the industry.

“Coming from outside the industry, Michael will bring a fresh perspective to listening to customers and asking questions,” said Bob Dale, Protection 1 senior vice president of sales. “The dynamics and requirements of the security director have changed, and Michael’s approach will help Protection 1 redefine what it means to serve the national account client in today’s demanding environment.”

Keen brings to Protection 1 a wealth of high-level sales and sales management experience from the pharmaceutical industry, having spent 14 years with Merck & Co., Inc. where he was responsible for the development of a sales culture reflective of the needs of the company’s top accounts. During his tenure at Merck, he received multiple accolades for his leadership in championing change, working with the marketing department to shape strategy, and serving two consecutive years on the National Business Advisory Board. He will spend his first 90 days with Protection 1 on the road meeting with key customers.
