ObjectVideo Files Action with International Trade Commission Against Bosch, Samsung, Sony

ObjectVideo today announced it has filed a complaint with the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) requesting the commencement of an investigation pertaining to products from Robert Bosch GmbH; Bosch Security Systems Inc.; Samsung Techwin Co., Ltd.; Samsung Opto-Electronics America, Inc. (d/b/a Samsung Techwin America, Inc.); Sony Corporation; and Sony Electronics Inc.

The complaint seeks an exclusion order and a cease and desist order barring the importation, sale for importation, or sale after importation of products from Bosch, Samsung and Sony that contain software features and functions which infringe certain ObjectVideo patents.

“The ITC process enables small companies like ObjectVideo to have patent infringement cases investigated within a relatively short period,” said Bill Marino, chief intellectual property officer for ObjectVideo. “This effectively helps level the playing field with larger companies who infringe patents, and allows us to continue to bring innovative technologies to the marketplace.”

ObjectVideo is represented by Martin R. Lueck and J. Scott Culpepper of the law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi LLP.
