CSIdentity Names Scott Cruickshank as CEO

CSIdentity, a provider of global, enterprise-level identity protection and fraud detection technologies and solutions, announced the appointment of Scott Cruickshank to the position of CEO. Cruickshank will apply more than 20 years of experience in the financial services and technology industries to meet growing demand from global businesses for technologies that can protect their customers based in the U.S. and worldwide.

“After an extensive search, we’re pleased to welcome Scott Cruickshank to the role of CEO. With significant leadership experience managing global organizations, as well as knowledge of our customers and the security space, there is no doubt Scott has the skills to take CSIdentity to the next level of global product and business development, corporate growth and profitability,” said Alex Guira, managing director of Investcorp Technology Partners and board director for CSIdentity.

Cruickshank brings more than 15 years of executive management experience to CSIdentity. At CyberSource Corp., a global provider of online payment solutions that streamline fraud management and simplify payment security, Cruickshank served as board director, president and COO heading the firm’s global sales, marketing and customer support functions. Prior to joining CyberSource, Cruickshank was president and COO of Qsent, and before that, he served as chief sales and marketing officer at Chase Paymentech where he led sales, customer care, marketing and service operations functions. Cruickshank was senior vice president of First Data Merchant Services and managing partner of Bank One Payment Services, prior to the company’s merger with Chase Paymentech in 1999. He also serves on the board of directors of London-based Skrill Holdings and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska-Kearney.

“I’m excited to joint the talented team at CSIdentity, who is bringing to market the most comprehensive offering of identity protection and fraud detection solutions,” said Cruickshank. “The company is transforming the way businesses defend their customers with a uniquely proactive, sophisticated and globally scalable solution and I look forward to being a part of this mission.”

Cruickshank will guide CSIdentity as the company experiences rapid and impressive domestic and global growth. High visibility data breaches are becoming more prevalent, severe and costly for companies and affected customers. This is spurring demand for CSIdentity’s suite of identity protection, data breach and identity authentication solutions that can scale to reach customers around the world while enabling businesses to differentiate themselves and augment revenue.

CSIdentity co-founder Joe Ross, who has been serving as interim CEO, will continue in his role as president of the company.

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
