Panasonic Solutions Company Appoints Scott French Vice President of Public Sector Sales

Panasonic Solutions Company, provider of collaboration, information-sharing and decision-support solutions for education, government and commercial enterprises, announced that Scott French has been appointed vice president of its public sector sales. French, a 20-year public sector veteran, will lead sales for the broad range of Panasonic Solutions Company products for state and local governments and public safety departments, including mobile computers, flat-panel displays, and professional video products. French will report to Jan Ruderman, vice president of government sector sales. French is joining the company from Motorola Solutions, where he led North America sales for its wireless broadband and mobile computing products.

“Panasonic is committed to helping state and local governments serve our nation’s citizens with innovative and reliable technology solutions,” Ruderman said. “Scott is a proven strategic business leader and a trusted advisor to decision-makers in the public sector. He understands the positive impact technology can have on government agencies and public safety professionals and he will be a key player in helping to support the sector’s ongoing transformation.”

“I believe technology has the power to change and save people’s lives and I know that mission-critical technology is centrally important to government and public safety professionals,” French said. “My priority will be to continue listening to the needs of our customers, to understand their challenges, and to help them realize their missions via the power and potential of technology.”

Prior to joining Panasonic Solutions Company, French spent 16 years in a variety of leadership roles at Motorola Solutions. Most recently, he was vice president and senior director of wireless mobility sales in North America. In addition, French’s leadership experience serving the public sector includes business development, regional sales, strategic sales, and systems engineering for Motorola Solutions. Prior to joining Motorola, he led a team of industrial engineers for the Department of the Army focused on increasing efficiencies and productivity of the Army mission.
