ComNet Introduces New VP of Engineering

ComNet, a manufacturer of fiber-optic transmission and networking equipment, has appointed Christopher Costa as the company’s vice president of engineering.

Costa will report directly to Andrew Acquarulo Jr., ComNet's president and COO. Costa previously held the role of director of engineering at Radiant Communications and Fiber Options/GE Security and has more than 20 years of experience in the development of successful new products for the physical security industry.

Costa will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the ComNet engineering department including the development and expansion of the ComNet fiber optic and Ethernet transmission product line and planned engineering department expansion.

“Chris has an exceptional understanding of where the communication market is evolving,” Acquarulo said. “Chris will be tasked to expand our fiber optic, copper based and Ethernet solutions to truly give ComNet customers a distinct edge.”

Costa has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Stony Brook University and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York. Chris will be based in the ComNet corporate offices in Danbury, Conn.
