Ameristar Fence Products Acquires ATG Access Inc.

Ameristar Fence Products recently acquired the assets of ATG Access Inc   (Lillington, NC) a subsidiary of ATG Access Ltd based in Merseyside, England.  Among these assets are a myriad of bollards, wedges, crash beam and other products that Ameristar will distribute in North America.

These perimeter security products will be manufactured in Tulsa, Okla., to the same high quality standards both Ameristar Fence Products and ATG Access are known.

ATG Access has long been the leading global provider of security bollard, wedge, and crash beam solutions in the United States.  ATG’s entry control solutions together with Ameristar fence, gate, and vehicle barrier offerings, provide Ameristar customers with the most complete perimeter security solution in the market.  The collaboration of these two industry leaders exhibits the “best in class” for perimeter security products in the world.

Ameristar is excited about the opportunities these products bring to its contractor customers and feel these additions will help the architectural community continue to find the best perimeter security solution from a proven source.

Ameristar Fence Products was chartered more than  25 years ago to provide specialty fence products that were more affordable but did not compromise the quality level demanded by specifiers and consumers.  This was accomplished by complete reformation of the way fence products were being manufactured.  Product design was approached from many new perspectives: maximizing high-volume productivity, increasing strength and durability, promoting ease of installation and enhancing aesthetic appearance.  A new plant was designed and built to house state-of-the-art roll-forming, metal processing and powder coating equipment.

The result boosted Ameristar to its current position as the largest manufacturer of architectural metal fences and gates in the world.

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
