ComNet, a U.S.-based manufacturer of fiber optic transmission and networking equipment, has announced that Robert Gallagher has been appointed as the company’s vice president of network systems and security solutions.

Gallagher’s new role will be to support the ComNet sales team by providing solutions to difficult network challenges and delivering Ethernet network training to ComNet customers across the country. The purpose of the role will be to enable ComNet to provide customer education on the topics of Ethernet\IP and communication networks. Additionally, the role will directly support the ComNet architect and engineer company support program.

Gallagher will report directly to Andrew Acquarulo Jr., ComNet president and COO. Most recently, Gallagher held the role of vice president of engineering at ComNet and has more than 20 years of experience in engineering communication products.

“I’m excited to bring my experience in the area of Ethernet networking to this new role. I’ve been a part of ComNet since its inception and have watched as the company has carved out a significant share of the connectivity market. It’s rewarding to be able to take my understanding of Ethernet networks and share it with those that are designing and implementing networks,” Gallagher said.
