FLIR Systems Receives $11.4 Million IDIQ Contract from NSWC

FLIR Systems Inc. has received a five-year, $11.4 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for its Recon III LocatIR system from Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Crane, Ind.

The lightweight and long-range EO/IR binoculars delivered under this contract will provide day and night operations.

“This order demonstrates the confidence NSWC has in our systems, and we believe these handheld systems will prove to be a valued asset in mission success,” said Bill Sundermeier, president, FLIR Government Systems division. “We are proud to be working with NSWC to supply these systems to support our nation’s ground forces.”

To date, more than 2,000 products from the Recon family have been shipped or are on order. The delivery began in June and will continue through 2016. Work on the order will be completed at FLIR’s facility in North Billerica, Mass.
