SimplexGrinnell Acquires Certified Fire Protection

SimplexGrinnell, a Tyco International company in fire and life safety, recently announced the acquisition of privately held Certified Fire Protection, Inc., a fire suppression company in the greater Atlanta area.

Certified Fire Protection will be integrated into SimplexGrinnell’s district office operations in Atlanta. The Atlanta location is one of SimplexGrinnell’s 150 local, company-owned sales and service offices in the United States and Canada.

Founded in 1990 and based in Norcross, Ga., Certified Fire Protection provides fire protection systems and services to a wide range of customers, from small local businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Certified Fire Protection built a stellar reputation in the greater Atlanta area, delivering high-quality fire protection solutions in power generation facilities, manufacturing plants, aircraft hangars, hospitals, laboratories, computer rooms, data centers, and telecommunication facilities.

“The acquisition of Certified Fire Protection is an excellent strategic fit for our business at SimplexGrinnell,” said Bob Chauvin, president at SimplexGrinnell. “It strengthens and expands our fire suppression capabilities in a key growth market while advancing our overall strategy and focus on being the leader in life safety and property protection across North America.”

Certified Fire Protection’s core competencies are centered on the design, installation, testing and maintenance of fire suppression and special hazards systems, including clean agent, dry chemical, and foam systems, as well as explosion protection systems. “In addition to expanding our geographic presence, the acquisition of Certified Fire Protection will deepen our technical experience and enhance our product offerings and service capabilities,” Chauvin said.
