OnSSI’s Ocularis Links To Talk-A-Phone’s Emergency Phones

OnSSI announces integration of the Ocularis open-architecture, intelligent IP video surveillance platform with Talk‑A‑Phone's VOIP-500 Series emergency phones to provide users immediate camera views of telephone distress calls using the Ocularis platform.

In the event of a distress call, the Talk‑A‑Phone VOIP-500 Series emergency phone sends a generic event via standard ASCII output over the network to OnSSI's Ocularis system. Based on the event, Ocularis can link to a nearby camera or lock a pan-tilt-zoom camera to a preset to view real-time video of the event. An event list also logs the event and allows it to be viewed later, including related archived video.

“Integration of Ocularis with Talk‑A‑Phone enables customers to put video 'eyes' on emergency calls using the Ocularis platform,” said Gadi Piran, President and CTO, OnSSI. “The open architecture of Ocularis expands IP functionality based on intelligent management of standardized inputs, and our integration with Talk‑A‑Phone and similar communication systems demonstrates real benefits to customers.”

“We are very pleased to add OnSSI to our growing list of technology partners”, said Samuel Shanes, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Talk-A-Phone Co. “Talk-A-Phone and OnSSI offer complementary products in the same market verticals. This partnership is a natural fit for both companies and will offer tangible benefits to our shared client base.”
