THRIVE Intelligence Takes Video Security to the Edge

THRIVE Intelligence (www.thriveintelligence.com) continues to expand its market footprint with a flagship video security as a service offering -- THRIVE 360 -- that increases safety, and reduces cost by delivering edge-based analytics and intelligent security monitoring for new or existing installations. THRIVE 360 integrates event-based video monitoring, analytics on the edge, audio intervention, GPS tracking and other alarm monitoring services. The combination of technologies, analytics and real-time monitoring comes together in THRIVE’s national command center, which is located in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

“After a successful and well-received debut at ASIS 2012, we have continued to enhance what we believe is the most advanced, proactive security surveillance solution available,” said Dean Wilson, CEO of THRIVE Intelligence. “From integrators to end users, customers recognize the value we have generated by creating a single platform that combines islands of technology into a simple, intuitive, turnkey security solution. Our approach provides quicker, more accurate, and detailed information to first responders, reduces false alarms, and ultimately, increases safety and security.”

From the Ground Up

THRIVE Intelligence is the vision of a highly experienced team of security professionals who sought to replicate a model that had been successful in basic burglar and fire alarm detection for nearly three decades. In doing so, they also wanted to ensure that THRIVE’s video security offering consisted of the latest technologies and security protocols and, as a result, designed -- from the ground up -- an end-to-end video surveillance solution that is powered by advanced analytics and culminates with 24/7 monitoring in a state-of-the-art national command center.

The advanced analytics built into the THRIVE 360 Solution proactively intervene and act when there is a triggering event, transforming passive security cameras into active intelligence tools. Security rules (the events that trigger an alarm) and protocols (the actions to be taken when a security breach occurs) are determined and entered into the THRIVE Intelligence system according to each customer’s specifications.

When an alarm or event occurs, it is immediately reviewed by personnel located in the heart of THRIVE’s service offering, the company’s 24,000 square foot, purpose-built command center. This fully redundant facility, with full disaster recovery capabilities, provides monitoring 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Personnel monitoring the video are highly trained, licensed Security Intervention Specialists and are supervised by law enforcement professionals.

Live footage of events can be streamed directly to customers and law enforcement officers en route via a smartphone, tablet or computer. In addition, storage of incident reports and non-event footage is provided with the service.

Integrator Technology Solutions

Recognizing that integrators are key to its success, THRIVE has also designed a variety of solutions that meet the needs of different environments by providing integrators with a multitude of installation options. These include the THRIVE IP Camera Solution, the Non-THRIVE IP Camera Solution, and the THRIVE Hybrid Solution.

In the THRIVE IP Camera approach, the company provides a complete, turnkey THRIVE 360 solution. Specific components include THRIVE cameras with embedded analytics, the THRIVE NVR server and THRIVE’s own video management software. Signals are received directly from the camera and sent to the company’s Video Command Center, while forensics storage is provided within the THRIVE NVR/server.

In the non-THRIVE IP Camera Solution, the site may already have existing IP cameras. Because THRIVE can integrate with more than 1,000 camera manufacturers, the existing hardware is seamlessly integrated with the THRIVE video management software and the THRIVE NVR/server. THRIVE then applies analytics at the server level, and that creates the events that are fed to the Command Center.

The third scenario is a hybrid solution, such as a site with existing combined analog and IP cameras. The hybrid THRIVE NVR allows both analog and IP data to be processed, and again, analytics are applied at the server level, thus creating events fed to the Command Center.

“We have worked hard to develop a flexible, scalable infrastructure that integrates new equipment, or leverages existing installations, to perform a significant number of applications, from basic presence and perimeter monitoring, to RFID and GPS tracking, to advanced business intelligence applications such as directional flow analysis,” added Wilson. “Thus, while our solution delivers some of the most advanced capabilities available in the market, it does so easily and cost-effectively.”
