Whitby School Appoints Emergency Response Expert

Established in 1958 and located on a 25-acre campus, Whitby is a co-educational, independent school for children 18-months of age through eighth grade. Enrollment approaches 400 students with 95 faculty and staff from Connecticut, other states and numerous countries. The school is accredited by the International Baccalaureate and American Montessori Society.

"We started upgrading our emergency planning before the Newtown tragedy," said Bryan Nixon, head of school. "Our goal is to ensure our planning, training, drilling and exercising thoroughly prepares us to protect our students, faculty and staff."
