Free Sessions at GovSEC Meet Critical Training Needs for Organizations with Tight BudgetsThe Government Security Conference and Expo, in conjunction with TREXPO and CPM East, is offering a variety of free educational programs for qualified government, homeland security and law enforcement professionals that will enable attendees to learn about valuable federal government programs, discover innovative security products and solutions, and attain valuable guidance on career development and professional certifications. In addition, attendees have access to all keynote addresses and exhibits at this premier event taking place May 14-15 in Washington, D.C.

“Our free education agenda has a lot to offer, and it’s all designed specifically to support those professionals whose mission includes maintaining security at local, state and federal levels,” said Don Berey, senior event director for GovSec. “We know that many organizations are facing budget constraints. By producing this free programming, we hope that in the course of two days in D.C., our attendees will find what they need to keep up-to-date on the latest trends, improve their job skills and make budget-conscious spending decisions.”

Free educational sessions include:

  • Agency Briefings – These briefings allow federal government agencies to share details about the valuable resources they offer in support of the mission of protecting our communities and homeland. From interagency communications and equipment to standards and training, the sessions provide real-world solutions to address challenges facing federal, state, tribal and local organizations. Briefings will be led by agencies, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Defense Logistics Agency and many more.

  • Certifications – Security certifications are in demand, but it can often be hard to determine the right one for an individual’s needs. These presentations will provide an overview of the most popular, in-demand and newest certifications available for IT, physical security, COOP and business continuity, such as CISSP Exam Prep, Homeland Protection certification, CPP, PCI, PSP and CEM/AEM.

  • Featured Presentations – These sessions are presented by professional organizations within the government security and law enforcement communities, providing career development education. Among these sessions are topics such as Federal Grants for Homeland Security & Law Enforcement; a full-scale, regional-preparedness exercise in Overview of Urban Shield; Why Cybercrime Has Become the Perfect Crime; and Global Terrorism, Espionage and Cyber Security Briefing, to name just a few.

  • Dell Solutions Theater – Exhibitors will present security solutions in this theater. Experts will share insights gained from working with other federal agencies and departments during 40-minute presentations. Afterwards, attendees can visit the presenters’ booths and see their state-of-the-art security products.
