RedCloud Announces Strategic Relationship with Schneider Electric

RedCloud Announces Strategic Relationship with Schneider ElectricRedCloud Announces Strategic Relationship with Schneider ElectricRedCloud, a provider of web-based physical access control systems, today announced a strategic agreement with Schneider Electric. RedCloud gives Schneider Electric a greater breadth of cloud and web-based, access control solutions that meet customers’ requirements for open integrated security solutions that are IT-friendly, scalable and allow for robust, third-party integration.

“Schneider Electric’s mission to lead the charge in efficient and secure building operations is directly in line with RedCloud’s commitment to deliver best-in-class security with the highest-levels of scalability and the lowest cost-of-ownership,” said David Basil, CEO, RedCloud. “We’re honored to be working with such an effective industry leader to expand the availability of web-based access control through Schneider Electric’s established base of customers and branch offices across the country.”

Schneider Electric delivers comprehensive solutions for efficiency and security through platforms such as Andover Continuum, SmartStruxure solution and EcoStruxure architecture. Through collaborative research and development with RedCloud, Schneider Electric is creating an offering that integrates RedCloud’s cloud-based solution into the EcoStruxure architecture, further joining energy and security capabilities and delivering new opportunities for its customers to secure facilities and reduce energy consumption. For both existing and new customers, midsized or large buildings, this offer will deliver best-in-class security and ease-of-use, whether in a single building or across multiple locations.

“In addition to larger facilities, the midmarket is a huge opportunity for Schneider Electric, as these customers have significant energy and security needs, but fewer resources to effectively manage their systems,” said Jim Sandelin, senior vice president, Buildings Americas at Schneider Electric. “Cloud-based offerings fit with these customers’ needs today for flexible, cost-effective and expandable security solutions. The addition of RedCloud alongside our existing platforms will allow us to further help customers secure facilities and reduce energy consumption.”

RedCloud's physical access control solution significantly lowers the barrier to entry for organizations to secure their facilities, people and assets – from a few doors at a single facility to hundreds or thousands of doors across multiple offices and locations – without investing in expensive servers or extensive IT infrastructure, while integrating with reusable, non-proprietary door controllers and card readers from leading manufacturers.

RedCloud and Schneider Electric will be at the ISC West security showcase at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, April 10-12. RedCloud is exhibiting at booth number 2095 and Schneider Electric is exhibiting at booth number 18031, and representatives will be available to discuss the new relationship between RedCloud and Schneider Electric.

As the 30th anniversary of the IP camera approaches in 2026, it is worth reflecting on how far we have come. • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
