10 Year Warranty on Polaroid Professional Surveillance Solutions

Whether ordering Polaroid products from the IP camera family with up to 20 Megapixel resolution, the analog camera family with 700 TVL resolution and license plate recognition or 14 Megapixel, 360 degree, fisheye cameras, Polaroid customers will receive a 10-year warranty. Such a long-term warranty is not available with any other line of surveillance equipment.

“The Polaroid brand stands for quality, and there is no better way to communicate that than to provide the security industry’s longest warranty,” emphasized Nathan Needel, COO of PRD International, manufacturer of Polaroid professional security solutions. “Whether the customer is in corrections, education, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, government, retail, transportation or other market arenas, all will be provided with a 10-year warranty.”

Commencing in July, end-users will be presented with a full line of Polaroid surveillance solutions that foster improved ease-of-operation, including short training sessions, bringing “user-friendly” to new heights. For instance, the Polaroid VMS is compatible with over 1800+ cameras from 80 different manufacturers. Most cameras will have the industry’s most competitive MSRP (manufacturer’s standard retail price). End-user organizations will be assigned their own dedicated integrator, eliminating the concerns of who is responsible for what.

“We look at video surveillance differently,” added Needel. “Contrary to only collecting and recording evidence for later review, we see surveillance as being proactive. We think of the camera as a sensor. Let’s say that a hotel manager wants no more than six guests in a registration line. When the Polaroid front desk camera picks up the seventh person, instantly, the surveillance system senses this and sends a message to the manager. With Polaroid surveillance hardware and software, customers will be able to produce information, not just evidence, instantly.”

  • The Evolution of IP Camera Intelligence

As the 30th anniversary of the IP camera approaches in 2026, it is worth reflecting on how far we have come. It did something that no analog system could: transmit video over a standard IP network. Read Now

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
