Silent Knight Educational Life Safety Code Seminars Resonate at Local Level

Silent Knight by Honeywell announced the launch of a nationwide series of seminars featuring industry experts speaking on current life safety systems requirements specific to each session’s region. Seminar content is geared toward the needs of architects, engineers, and code enforcement officials, facility managers responsible for life safety systems and occupant health and security. Silent Knight Educational Life Safety Code Seminars Resonate at Local LevelThe free, half-day seminars will run February through April and qualify attendees to receive continuing education units (CEUs) and Continuing Professional Development Credits (CPDs).

Each seminar’s guest speaker will be an engineer, Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) or qualified life safety consultant, providing updates on the region’s latest code adoptions from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Building Code (IBC) and International Fire Code (IFC). The area’s employment of more fire alarm voice evacuation systems and the rising demand for emergency communication systems will also be addressed, with added emphasis on meeting audio intelligibility mandates. Presenters will also walk through real examples of recent fire alarm and voice evacuation system designs from the region, noting key pitfalls to avoid. In addition to valuable handouts, each seminar will offer attendees ample time for questions and answers.

The seminars’ educational presentation runs 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with breakfast and lunch provided free-of-charge.
