Eid Passport Awarded One-year Contract Extension as FBI-approved Channeler

Eid Passport, Inc. has been awarded a one-year contract extension by the FBI to continue serving as an FBI-approved Channeler. Eid Passport is one of only a small number of companies approved by the FBI and has received contract renewals since it was first selected as an FBI-approved Channeler in November 2006.

“We’re honored to continue as one of only a handful of companies authorized to process FBI fingerprint-based criminal history checks,” said Steve Larson, chairman and CEO of Eid Passport. “This extension speaks to the bureau’s steadfast confidence in our processes and technology, and we are committed to maintaining our high level of service and security.”

As an FBI-approved Channeler, Eid Passport is authorized to process FBI fingerprint-based criminal history checks for non-criminal justice purposes. In addition, the company is authorized to process requests by individuals seeking a copy of their own FBI criminal history record. Individuals may submit such a request, for example, to review the information on record.

Eid Passport collects fingerprints and biographic data from individuals and electronically forwards the data to the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS). The FBI then compares the submitted fingerprints to those stored in the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS), the largest criminal fingerprint database in the world, according to the FBI.
