Securitron Expands Power Supply Offering

Securitron, an ASSA ABLOY Group company, is announcing availability of the AQE Series of power supplies focused on Power over Ethernet (PoE). The product line includes Injectors, Extractors and Rack Mount Injectors.

Bringing data and power together, the AQE15 and AQE30 are single port PoE MidSpan Injectors designed to power PoE devices such as PoE access control door controllers, DC IP cameras and other PoE equipment from a non-PoE source. These injectors operate from low voltage 24 VAC/24V DC input power, include visual diagnostics via onboard LED, and provide 15W (IEEE 802.3af) or 30W (802.3at) output power.

Like the AQE15 and AQE30, the AQE30E is designed for access control and security applications. It is a single port PoE MidSpan Extractor that provides up to 25W of 12VDC output power and a data connection to a non-PoE device. This midspan extractor is used to power door controllers, access control devices and DC IP and PTZ cameras. It also includes onboard LED for visual diagnostics, and is selectable for 13W or 25W output.

For remote manageability, the AQE250R and AQE500R are the perfect solution for a centralized system. These 16 port, PoE Rack Mounted Injectors power up to 32W per port with 10/100/1000 Base-T Gigabit support. They provide power and data to access control, door locks, PTZ cameras, video and other PoE devices. Offering remote power monitoring and online management capability, the rack mounted injectors enable remote shut down of individual ports or all ports simultaneously without the need to be onsite. The AQE250R and AQE500R also include a 48V battery charger for cost effective back-up power, identifies and protects non-PoE equipment, and provides protection from over temperature, overvoltage, overcurrent and short-circuiting.

“As PoE access control solutions continue to permeate the market, efficient power solutions must be ready to guarantee effective operation,” said Scott Baker, president of ASSA ABLOY EMS&OEM Group. “These new injectors and extractors further establish Securitron as a leader in power products and as the most reliable and feature rich choice.”

All Securitron power products come with the Securitron Magnacare Lifetime Replacement No Fault Warranty.

  • The Evolution of IP Camera Intelligence

As the 30th anniversary of the IP camera approaches in 2026, it is worth reflecting on how far we have come. The first network camera, launched in 1996, delivered one frame every 17 seconds—not impressive by today’s standards, but groundbreaking at the time. It did something that no analog system could: transmit video over a standard IP network. Read Now

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
