China Security Law to Cover Space and Sea

China Security Law to Cover Space and Sea

China is adding assets in space, deep sea and polar regions to its pending national security law

According to a report, China will add assets in space, sea and polar regions to its pending national security law. President Xi Jinping, the head of the newly established security commission, has said China’s security covers politics, culture, the military, the economy and the environment.

Foreign business groups have argued the law is too broad and vague.

"Some standing committee members, participants and departments suggested that in space, the deep sea, polar regions and other strategic new frontiers, China has real and potential major national interests and faces security threats and challenges," the official Xinhua news agency said.
