Mobiliya Technologies Partners with Sonim Technologies

Mobiliya Technologies, known for powering secure, differentiated devices through its Android-based custom ROM Mobiliya KratOS, announced a new partnership with Sonim Technologies, maker of the world’s toughest smartphones and mission-critical solutions designed for workers in extreme environments. Together, the two companies will bring to market the first ultra-rugged, secure, enterprise-managed Android/LTE/WiFi smartphone.

Mobiliya Technologies and Sonim will collaborate on both hardware and software to create what will be a one-of-a-kind secure ruggedized device. By combining the revolutionary secure and manageable Mobiliya KratOS with the latest Sonim hardware, models XP7 & XP6 are poised to provide fast, secure and ruggedized solution to users and enable a flurry of innovative enterprise services. The landmark partnership aims to redefine the way companies use mobile devices, address key challenges in Android security and spark true mobile adoption in industries such as mining, manufacturing, construction and defense.

The enterprise ready, secure custom ROM Mobiliya KratOS-powered Sonim devices will come with the following powerful features:

  1. Ultra-rugged, durable and made for harsh conditions with special capabilities for panic button, emergency services and constant tracking of the device.
  2. Enterprise-level enhanced security on device – With enhanced security, encryption of all data, permission based cross app data transfer, secure zone for enterprise apps and enables complete data security on the device.
  3. Enterprise manageability – Ability to centrally manage all device data, enable geo-location, restrictions, App download permissions and deletions with full wipe in case of lost or stolen device.
  4. Enterprise readiness – Enables single sign-on, integration with VPN of choice and full capability to work with enterprise infrastructure setup.

Built on top of Google's open source Android and enhanced with advanced device management capabilities, virtual private network (VPN), application security, data encryption and a vast collection of customized enterprise and consumer-centric applications, Mobiliya KratOS provides regular updates for both consumer and enterprise features along with enhanced, bloat-free performance to secure and manage devices. With personalization, a regionalization framework and software development kit (SDK) for third party app integration, Mobiliya KratOS is easily adapted to vertical-specific Android devices such as point-of-sale systems, automobiles, set-top boxes and smart TVs.
