Security Guard Shot to Death in Houston Parking Lot

The security guard worked at the apartment complex adjacent to the lot

A security guard was shot to death in the parking lot of a Houston apartment complex, according to reports. The security guard lived across the street from the complex.

"Residents here at St. Joseph's say the security guard worked here for years," said HPD Homicide Detective David Stark. "We aren't sure about a motive, and we are still looking for suspects."

Emergency personnel found the guard lying in the lot around 3 a.m.

Those who live in the complex said the guard, Daniel Arp, had gotten to know families in the area well.

Surveillance video captured the suspected shooter smoking a cigar and walking the premises shortly after the shooting occurred.
