Paxton to Preview New Building Intelligence System at ASIS

Paxton is bringing its 30 years’ experience in the security industry to the building management world with the launch of its new system net10, a fully integrated building intelligence system, at ASIS in Anaheim, CA.

net10 delivers out of the box access control, IP video management and building automation to streamline the management of buildings. Using conventional RFID tokens or Bluetooth smart devices, the system offers powerful tools for giving specific permissions to individuals and groups of people. It works in conjunction with all types of IP cameras in order to facilitate live viewing and the recording of video footage. It also interfaces with existing building infrastructure for a high level of control over lighting, heating, air conditioning, intruder and fire alarms, ensuring maximum efficiency and boosting cost and time savings.

Built with elegance and simplicity in mind, net10 is suitable for projects of all sizes, from the smallest store to the largest university campus. The system is managed using a highly intuitive web-interface meaning there’s no software to install or upgrade.

Bob McKee, president of the Paxton Americas, said, “We have entered a new era at Paxton as we now join our digital personalities to smart building systems creating unique functionality, efficiency and more importantly simplicity. Our individuality or group can now be connected intelligently to building technologies reducing energy consumption, improving comfort levels, increasing management services and automating tasks normally performed manually. We call this Building Intelligence.”

Advancements in technology have meant a change in customer expectations and a rise in the interest of integrated systems. The launch of net10 marks a new direction for Paxton and comes in response to the evolving landscape within the security industry.

Visitors to the Paxton’s booth (#445) can receive a full demonstration of the new system and speak to the company’s leading team of industry experts about its capabilities. They can also register to attend a free one day workshop on net10.

There are many reasons to attend net10 training:

  • Get hands-on experience installing and selling this powerful building intelligence system;
  • Offer customers a package that will provide security, convenience and energy efficiency; and
  • Learn how to win more business by offering this breakthrough solution.

“We can’t wait for installers to see our demonstration of net10 at the ASIS Show,” said McKee. “net10 will demonstrate the transition to a connected building environment right out of the box. As IoT becomes more common place, Paxton will be on the forefront of this technology which is a way of conceptualizing the very real connectivity of virtually everything via the Internet. Our unique design still incorporates our main design criteria of ‘simplicity’ net10 is a game changer and a logical path for Paxton’s pursuit in leading the marketplace with innovative solutions.”

  • The Evolution of IP Camera Intelligence

    As the 30th anniversary of the IP camera approaches in 2026, it is worth reflecting on how far we have come. The first network camera, launched in 1996, delivered one frame every 17 seconds—not impressive by today’s standards, but groundbreaking at the time. It did something that no analog system could: transmit video over a standard IP network. Read Now

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

    Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
