ACRE Appoints New President of Mercury Security

ACRE announced it has appointed Matthew Barnette as President of its subsidiary Mercury Security. Mr. Barnette will be responsible for leading Mercury through its next phase of growth as it continues to work with valued partners to leverage industry-proven Authentic Mercury technology to create open, integrated access solutions for customers.

Mr. Barnette has more than two decades of experience in the security and access control industry, where he has focused on driving innovation, strategy and customer-lead profitability for a number of organizations.  Prior to Mercury Security, he served as President of AMAG Technology, a leading provider of access control, video management and end-to-end security management solutions, owned by the UK parent company G4S. Mr. Barnette held several executive leadership positions during his twelve-year tenure at the company, where he led AMAG Technology to double-digit organic growth in North America, and oversaw an extensive global rebranding process.  Prior to AMAG Technology, he held positions with Andover Controls, Intellikey and Sensormatic Electronics.

“Matt's deep industry expertise, leadership and vision are perfectly matched to drive the shared mission and success of Mercury Security and its valued partners,” said Joe Grillo, CEO of ACRE.  “As an industry veteran known for his successful track record and customer-centric approach, I am confident that Matt has the proven ability to build upon the strategic support delivered to Mercury partners and capture the increasing market demand for open and interoperable access control solutions with Authentic Mercury hardware.”

Reporting to Joe Grillo, Mr. Barnette succeeds Steve Wagner, who is retiring after spending a decade at Mercury Security, most recently as President.  Mr. Wagner continues to be a shareholder in ACRE and will serve as a consultant to ACRE through 2017.
