We Secure the Government

One of the biggest verticals in the security industry is government. Naturally, the federal government comes to mind when this topic is mentioned; however, the government encompasses far more than the feds. The first thing that comes to my mind are schools; K-12 and campuses. Schools are very much part of the government system, and if anything needs security and protection, this is the place.

Every year, we host a product event whereby manufacturers enter products to be judged by a panel of well-qualified security experts. Entered in various categories, the products are critiqued and awarded as champions of security to the government. This year, 2017, is no different. We received numerous nominations in various categories, and in looking the entries over, I am amazed at what the human mind can conceive and bring to bear.

On the following pages in this issue, you will be able to read who has entered, and what products they deem necessary for government security. I whole-heartedly concur that each and every product has its place and time to offer critical assurances of security.

Please take a long look at the products being highlighted in this issue. As an end user, review what each of these products has to offer as you make decisions on personal and facility security. My thanks to those companies that entered The GOVIES. Of course, I appreciate their support, but mostly I am pleased to be associated with so many brilliant people; people who live and breathe the necessity of security.
