Home Security Products Launching at CES 2018 This Week

Security companies are no stranger to the Consumer Electronics Show.

Security companies are no stranger to the Consumer Electronics Show, each year some of the top security companies as well as some smaller kickstarter brands announce some of the most innovative products the security industry will see all year at the show.

This year is no different. Take a peek into some of the top security products attendees will be view at CES 2018 this year.

AR4X Intelligent Camera

The AR4X by Amaryllo Community is still in the kickstarter stages, but that doesn't lessen the product at all. The intelligent camera is touted as an A.I. powered security camera robot that can recognize faces and tell the difference between people, cars and even pets.

AR4 is designed to replace traditional CCTV. With ever increasing security threats and burglaries, it is important to upgrade commonplace CCTV with updated technologies such as the AR4X camera that turns a passive recording device into a proactive camera robot that actively looks for possible danger.

New Line of Home Security Devices from Ring

Ring, the home security company that brought you the well-known Ring doorbell, announced the launch of a full home security ecosystem that includes a range of new products like indoor/outdoor security cameras and connected outdoor lights.

Featured in the new line of products is the new battery-powered Stick Up Cam, a weatherproof security camera that's designed to work both indoors and outdoors. It supports 1080p HD video, two-way audio and a built-in passive infrared motion sensor with zone detection. The camera is compatible with the Ring Solar Panel Changer.

Netgear Arlo Pro 2

Netgear is demonstrating the functions of the new Arlo Pro 2 at CES this year, a kit it says gives you a blanket of security. The kit comes with either two or four cameras, a base station with built-in siren and other installation pieces.

The system allows you to record at 1080p HD video in more detail than before, has motion and sound detection and two-way audio. The cameras also have two-way audio, night vision and 130-degree viewing angle which gives you a wide range of functionality.

Abode Iota

Abode Systems is entering the HomeKit-compatible space with a new DIY security option they are calling Iota. The Iota system enables flexibility by letting users build a custom ecosystem of accessories using a central gateway device.

The Iota gateway includes a 1080p HD camera and Z-Wave, ZigBee, and RF connectivity support in addition to working with HomeKit, which means users can control their security system through the iOS Home app or Siri. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are also supported.
