ABC is stepping up security at its Sydney headquarters following a security breach by a man that assaulted an employee.

A man was charged after he allegedly slipped through the high-security at ABC before grabbing a female employee and kissing her.

Security has been boosted at the national broadcaster while the culprit's mental health is being evaluated.

The man entered the offices around 2:30 p.m. last Wednesday, police said in a statement on Monday. Security guards were alerted and police arrested the suspect.

An email was circulated among the employees that the suspect had gained entrance to the building through tailgating, or following an authorized person through the secure doors of the building. There is no an increased security presence at the office.
