Celebrating Humanity

There are plenty of great things to talk about when it comes to a security tradeshow; however, there may not be anything more important that people coming together for a common cause.

Mission 500 recently held its 4th annual security softball game in New Jersey. I'm very pleased that we can be part of such an incredible event. It is unfortunate that we don't office nearer the action so that we can suit up and hit a couple of homers. It is not about that anyway because everyone comes away as a winner from this sensational event.

Mission 500 is proud to announce that they raised more than $47,000, and will be supporting various program partners across the United States that help children living in poverty. Whether you were near or far, on or off the field, or volunteering your time, you helped make a difference in the life of a child. Mission 500 is grateful for your support and appreciate your commitment to their cause.

Here's what the game day impact looked like as more outreaches are planned this year:

  • Attendees of the game spent time assembling Mission 500 Care Packs and writing notes of hope for 300 children and families living in the South Bronx. The south Bronx is the poorest congressional district in the United States.
  • $3,500 was donated to the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation Children's Camp, a not-for-profit dedicated to the advancement of burn care, research, prevention, education, and the proper treatment of burns. This organization sends burn victims under the age of 18 to a camp where they can come together and put their scars aside while having fun at summer camp. Mission 500 is proud to support the camp for the second year in a row.
  • The remainder of the funds raised will be used towards Mission 500's regional programming for children across the United States as well as continuing to provide corporate social responsibility/volunteering opportunities for industry companies. In 2017, Mission 500 had the privilege of serving children in Title One Schools from Fresno, CA, to New York City. Mission 500 is proud to have you as a partner and they will most certainly be serving even more children with your help this year.
