Mission 500 Announces new Co-Chairs, Treasurer, and Secretary to Advisory Board

Mission 500, a non-profit charity that works closely with the security industry to serve the needs of children and communities in crisis throughout the United States, announces new Co-Chairpersons to its advisory board: Janet Fenner, President of Defined Marketing, and Tracy Larson, President and Partner at WeSuite. In addition, current board member Jason Lutz, Distribution Sales Leader at Resideo Technologies, will become Treasurer and Sarah Flanagan, President & Publisher, United Publications: Security Systems News & HME News will be joining Mission 500 as Secretary to the board.

“The Mission 500 Board is under exceptional leadership with these colleagues in their new roles,” said outgoing board chair Ken Gould, President at KJG Consulting. “Each brings tremendous industry expertise and fully embraces our mission of promoting corporate social responsibility and mobilizing volunteers and resources to make a tangible difference for children and families living in poverty.“

Co-chair Fenner brings almost 25 years of B2B marketing experience and has been recognized as a top female leader by the Security Industry Association, where she also served on the Board of Directors. Fenner is also the CMO at Lumeo, an industry newcomer and is helping to position them as a disrupter in the analytic space. She has held marketing roles with Hanwha Techwin America and Dahua Technology USA.

In her role at WeSuite, Co-Chair Larson helps lead a company that produces the top sales management CRM software for security, IT and AV integrators. An industry veteran for more than 25 years, previously, Larson was Vice President of Enterprise Sales at Diebold Enterprise Security Systems and Chief Operating Officer at Antar-Com, Inc. She teaches the SIA Project Management Workshops, is a SIA Time Mentor, and has served on Mission 500’s advisory board since 2020.

Treasurer Lutz founded his own security company, in Nashville, Tennessee in the early 1990s. After selling that company in 2001, he served in managerial roles at Honeywell. In 2018 he joined Resideo Technologies as part of its Spinoff of Honeywell Security. He has been on the Mission 500 advisory board since 2019 and chairs the service trip committee.

Secretary Flanagan is President & Publisher at United Publications: Security Systems News & HME News, where she oversees sales, marketing, audience development and circulation.

In addition to the new leadership, the Mission 500 advisory board is receiving two new members: John Nemerofsky, Mary Beth Shaughnessy. Nemerofsky is the COO of Sage Integration, a national security integration provider serving enterprise clients. Shaughnessy is the Event Director at Reed Exhibitions, where she identifies top buyers, delegates, and merchants for ISC Events.

Mission 500 honored former chair, Ken Gould, with the 2021 Humanitarian Award at ISC-West earlier this year for the integral role he has played in maintaining and achieving goals for the charity during difficult economic times.

“My fellow board members and I can’t speak more highly of the impact Ken has made during his tenure as board chair,” said Fenner. “Mission 500 is stronger because of his commitment and vision. We have big shoes to fill and are grateful Ken will continue to serve in an advisory role.”

Mission 500 is looking to expand its reach and is looking for potential members from the west and southeast region of the United States. If interested, please email with [email protected] for more information.
