Digital.ai Automates Mobile App Hardening With AI

The updated Quick Protect Agent integrates post-build security for Android and iOS into the CI/CD pipeline to defend against reverse engineering.

Software delivery platform Digital.ai has released an updated version of its application hardening solution, introducing large language model capabilities to automate security for mobile applications.

The Quick Protect Agent v2 is designed to address the increasing volume of mobile security threats by embedding protection directly into existing development workflows. As artificial intelligence accelerates both software production and the creation of malware, the tool aims to bridge the gap between rapid deployment and necessary security protocols.

The software provides post-build protection for both Android and iOS applications, which means security controls are applied after the build process is complete. This method allows organizations to defend against tampering and reverse engineering without requiring developers to modify the original source code or perform manual configurations.

Key features of the updated agent include code-aware protection, which uses AI to identify and obfuscate only the most sensitive components of an application. According to the company, this targeted approach maintains application performance while securing critical data.

The release also integrates app hardening with automated testing. By connecting security functions to the CI/CD pipeline, teams can validate the performance and functionality of protected apps within their standard delivery processes.

"Quick Protect AI leverages the power of AI to let teams secure Android and iOS apps in minutes," said Derek Holt, CEO of Digital.ai. "We are making security accessible to all organizations by reducing the need for specialized skills and ensuring that every app that should be protected, can be protected."

The tool is intended to help enterprises scale security across all mobile releases, moving beyond the protection of only flagship applications to cover the entire mobile attack surface.
