Platinum Tools Announces Speed Termination Contest for ISC West

Attendees can compete for a Pro Installer Kit by demonstrating speed and precision in RJ45 connector termination.

Platinum Tools will host an ezEX-RJ45 Speed Termination Contest during the ISC West 2026 conference at the Venetian Expo and Convention Center.

The competition challenges participants to terminate an RJ45 connector onto a Category cable using the company's crimp tool and ezEX-RJ45 pass-through connectors. Judges will evaluate security professionals on both speed and precision. To qualify, all terminations must be T568B verified and pass a continuity test.

"Participants will compete to terminate an RJ45 connector onto a Category cable," said Jason Chesla, Platinum Tools sales director. "They will be judged on their speed and precision against other security professionals."

The contest will take place at booth 3036 on March 25 and March 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each contestant will receive a length of Category cable and the necessary strippers, scissors and crimp tools to strip, prep and terminate one end of the cable.

The fastest qualifying times each day will be displayed on a leaderboard at the booth. All participants will receive a free hand tool while supplies last.

The winners will receive a Pro Installer Kit, which includes an ezEX-RJ45 termination kit featuring a crimp tool, assorted connectors and prep tools. The prize package also includes a T130K1 VDV MapMaster 3.0 cable tester kit.
