Kastle Executive to Lead SIA Built Environment Board

Andrew Campagnola will chair the advisory group focused on integrating security technology with smart buildings and proptech.

The SIA has appointed Andrew Campagnola as the new chair of its Built Environment Advisory Board.

Campagnola, the director of product management at Kastle, succeeds former chairs Lee Odess and Dan Cremins. In his new role, he will oversee the board’s mission to bridge the gap between the global security industry and adjacent sectors, including property technology (proptech) and smart buildings.

With a career spanning roles as an end user, integrator, consultant, and manufacturer, Campagnola brings experience in sales, engineering, and product strategy to the position. He currently leads product strategy for managed security solutions at Kastle, focusing on commercial real estate and multifamily housing.

“Security technology is already in these buildings, driving real business outcomes well beyond the security department,” Campagnola said. “As chair, I want to scale the board’s reach into the trade associations that serve the commercial real estate, multifamily and smart building markets.”

The Built Environment Advisory Board focuses on how physical security systems can be integrated with broader building technologies to create comprehensive smart environments. The group is responsible for initiatives such as the SIA Proptech Report and various educational programs regarding ESG (environmental, social, and governance) standards in security.

SIA CEO Don Erickson noted that Campagnola’s diverse background provides a practical understanding of how security solutions are deployed in the modern landscape.

“We look forward to collaborating with him to build on this effort to grow engagement between the global security industry, proptech and smart buildings,” Erickson said.
