Dortronics Showcases Modular Interlock Controllers at ISC West

New PLC series allows for scalable door sequencing and centralized lockdown across multiple security zones.

Dortronics Systems Inc. is debuting its latest door control innovations this week at ISC West, featuring a new programmable logic controller designed to increase flexibility for system installers.

The featured 48500-EZ PLC Interlock Controller is a single-board solution capable of interlocking two to five doors across two zones. The system is designed for scalability, allowing two controllers to be paired to manage up to 10 doors.

“Our new 48500-EZ Series is a highly versatile interlock solution,” said John Fitzpatrick, president of Dortronics Systems Inc. “It represents the next generation of our industry-proven PLC interlock technology.”

The unit is field-configurable, meaning it can be programmed without external software. This allows technicians to set specific door sequencing, alarm responses, and security overrides on-site. The system is intended for high-security environments such as airlocks, clean rooms, sally ports, and data centers.

In addition to the new controller, the company is displaying its line of electromagnetic locks and strikes, which range in holding force from 300 to 1,500 pounds. These products are used in applications ranging from retail display cases to critical infrastructure entry points.

The company is also highlighting its range of door control buttons, switches, and annunciators, which are available in various custom configurations to meet specific site requirements.

The 48500-EZ series integrates with existing access control platforms and can monitor external threat detection systems, including tailgate alarms and metal detectors.

This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
