DroneShield and Terma Partner on Counter UAS Tech

Two defense industry leaders establish a strategic framework to integrate AI detection and command systems for enhanced drone protection.

The global defense landscape is shifting toward integrated protection as DroneShield and Terma announce a new strategic collaboration. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop and operationalize layered counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) capabilities.

This partnership focuses on creating a framework where DroneShield’s AI-enabled detection and electronic warfare tools work in tandem with Terma’s command-and-control software. The collaboration aims to provide military and security customers with more flexibility in how they sense, track and neutralize drone threats in diverse environments.

By integrating these technologies, the companies intend to improve sensor fusion. This process combines data from multiple sources to give operators a clearer picture of the airspace, reducing false alarms and increasing the speed of defensive responses.

The agreement targets several key global markets, including the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Denmark. As drone technology becomes more sophisticated, the joint effort seeks to provide scalable solutions that can be incorporated into existing long-term air defense frameworks.

Both organizations noted that the current threat environment requires interoperable systems that can be deployed rapidly. This move allows the companies to pursue emerging opportunities in Europe and beyond, offering coordinated defense packages designed for modern warfare and domestic security.
