DroneShield Rolls Out First European Manufactured Counter UAS System

The defense contractor expanded its global supply chain to boost regional production and supply resilience for European allies.

A major defense contractor has completed production on its first European-built counter-drone system, marking an expansion of its global manufacturing operations.

The rollout was announced at the Eurosatory 2026 defense exhibition in Paris. The new system matches the design and performance specifications of the company’s existing Australian-built technology but utilizes a localized European supply chain.

By utilizing contract manufacturing within the region, the company aims to enhance supply chain resilience and support local sovereign capabilities. The shift toward regional production aligns with broader European defense initiatives, such as the European Union’s Readiness 2030 framework, which emphasizes industrial readiness and shortened delivery timelines across member states.

The initial production batch follows the establishment of the company's European headquarters in Amsterdam. The facility will support the distribution of AI-powered drone detection and mitigation systems to NATO and partner nations across military and civilian sectors. Company officials indicated that local manufacturing operations will continue to expand to meet growing regional demand.
