TrafFix Devices has highlighted its Water Wall barrier system, designed to provide temporary positive separation and traffic control for airport facilities.
The low-density polyethylene plastic system functions as a longitudinal channelizing device to manage passenger flow during peak travel times and separate construction zones from active runways or taxiways.
The barrier features a double-wall knuckle design at hinge points to minimize structural failure. Sections can pivot up to 30 degrees to accommodate various site layouts, while a newly added corner component enables 90-degree turns.
Deployment features include an 8-inch fill opening with a twist-lock cap, an offset drain plug, and molded slots for transport via forklifts or pallet jacks. Sections interlock using a steel connection and keeper pin system, and the units can be integrated with chain-link fence attachments for higher perimeter security requirements.
The system meets crash-test criteria under NCHRP-350 and MASH guidelines for longitudinal channelizing devices, barrier walls and barricades. It also connects directly to SLED end treatments without requiring additional shielding.
