AirSight Launches Trade In Program for Legacy Aeroscope Drone Detectors

The new buy-back initiative offers a credit to help organizations replace discontinued Aeroscope units with updated airspace security technology.

Security technology provider AirSight announced a new initiative to help organizations replace discontinued drone detection hardware with updated airspace monitoring software.

Under the program, the company offers a $10,000 credit toward a three-year contract for its AirGuard Essential platform when customers trade in legacy DJI Aeroscope hardware.

The initiative targets operators facing limited support and part shortages following the discontinuation of the Aeroscope product line. The aging hardware leaves potential coverage gaps as drone technology and airspace regulations evolve.

The replacement platform integrates radio frequency sensing with Remote ID detection. The dual-layer approach maintains visibility over legacy systems while expanding detection to additional manufacturers, including Autel, Skydio and Parrot, as well as custom radio links. The system also captures FAA-mandated Remote ID broadcasts from modern unmanned aircraft.

In addition to expanding target compatibility, the platform provides real-time position tracking for both aircraft and pilots. Data streams consolidate into a single dashboard designed for security personnel at airports, critical infrastructure facilities and public venues.

The trade-in credit applies to legacy Aeroscope units regardless of the original vendor that installed the system.
