Barracuda Announces AI Data Security Solution

The October release combines AI-usage monitoring, policy enforcement and sensitive-data controls.

Barracuda Networks recently announced Barracuda AI Data Security. The BarracudaONE-based product is intended for organizations and managed service providers, with availability planned for October 2026.

Barracuda said the product will cover more than 1,300 generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude and Gemini. It will examine prompts and uploaded files and prevent proprietary code, passwords, financial records and customer data from reaching those services. Barracuda Research found that nearly half of surveyed senior IT leaders said their teams lacked the skills to govern AI already in use, although the announcement did not provide methodology details.

The company said its controls address prompt injection, jailbreak attempts, hate speech and policy-restricted subjects. Administrators can create rules by team, tool and data type, while an audit function records AI interactions and supports exports for auditors and insurers. MSPs will be able to manage multiple customer environments through a centralized interface.
