SoftBank Reportedly Considering Allied Universal Acquisition

A potential deal could value Allied Universal at approximately $18 billion, although discussions remain preliminary, according to Reuters.

SoftBank is considering acquiring Allied Universal, according to Reuters, citing an unnamed source with knowledge of the matter.

The potential deal could place Allied Universal's valuation at approximately $18 billion, Reuters reported.

The discussions remain preliminary, with no final decision made on the transaction or potential price, according to Reuters. Bloomberg News initially reported the potential transaction.

Reuters reported that SoftBank could eventually seek to use robots for some duties currently performed by employees, although deploying humanoid security robots would take longer.

Allied Universal supplies security personnel for commercial properties, event venues and other businesses. Its work also extends to data centers during construction and ongoing operations, Reuters reported.

“As a matter of policy, Allied Universal does not comment on market rumors or speculation. Our focus every day is on serving and helping safeguard our clients, supporting our nearly 800,000 security professionals worldwide, and continuing to grow as one of the leading security and facility services company in the world," Allied Universal said in a statement.

Security Today has reached out to SoftBank for comment.
