Interface Systems Reports 97% of Veterinary Hospital Network Alarms Resolved Without Dispatch

A veterinary network consolidated security support across more than 1,000 sites to address false alarms and subsequent fines.

Video verification identified 97% of alarm events as false at about 300 veterinary hospitals, with those events resolved without police dispatch, according to Interface Systems.

The unnamed hospital network adopted Interface’s video verification service at standalone facilities where false alarms had generated repeated penalties. Interface said the remaining 3% of events required a law enforcement response.

Before the change, affected hospitals faced fines of $500 to $1,000 for each unnecessary police response. Some facilities incurred several thousand dollars in penalties within a month, according to the company.

The deployment was part of a broader consolidation of intrusion alarm monitoring and video system support across more than 1,000 U.S. locations. Previously, the veterinary network had inconsistent alarm monitoring support and limited use of its existing video management software.

Interface assumed responsibility for routine support and introduced relevant employee training. Risk management personnel now use the footage to examine suspected fraud, assess workers’ compensation cases and preserve material for legal proceedings.

Interface also reported resolving 63% of service requests remotely, eliminating the need to send technicians to those sites. It said 94% of repairs met established turnaround requirements, exceeding the network’s 85% goal.

The network is testing additional monitoring services at locations it considers more vulnerable. Those trials pair cameras equipped with artificial intelligence with remote personnel who can intervene when potential threats arise.
