Organizations using Omnilert’s gun detection platform can now evaluate activity surrounding potential firearm sightings and configure how those events are communicated and handled, the company announced.
The platform pairs a model that identifies visible guns through compatible surveillance cameras with another that examines footage preceding and following a detection. Omnilert said the additional analysis helps reviewers assess circumstances specific to a facility.
Images, recordings and location details can be forwarded to personnel for verification. Omnilert customers can establish notification recipients, select information shared with each group and assign access to response controls.
Filters let organizations determine how to handle expected firearm appearances, including armed officers, training exercises and ROTC activities. Notifications for those situations can remain enabled, be suppressed or receive separate handling.
Authorized personnel can also temporarily suspend event delivery from designated cameras or areas while detection continues elsewhere.
The company said available functions depend on customer needs and deployment arrangements.
