Digital Watchdog Adds Cameras with Selectable Detection Modes

Four MEGApix models let users choose facial recognition or video analytics for monitoring entrances, parking areas, perimeters, and other security locations.

Security operators can select facial recognition or video analytics on four new 4K MEGApix cameras from Digital Watchdog.

The lineup includes two dome and two bullet models. Digital Watchdog says the cameras support monitoring at building entrances, property boundaries and vehicle access points.

In facial recognition mode, the cameras compare faces they capture against an onboard database holding up to 10,000 individual faces. Operators can organize records into allow and block lists.

The alternative mode classifies people, vehicles and objects. It also detects boundary crossings, perimeter intrusions and image changes that could indicate tampering.

All four models capture video at up to 30 frames per second. Integrated white lights support nighttime color recording, with illumination reaching up to 164 feet depending on the model.
