The city of Freeport, Texas has selected ADT Security Services to provide and install the first phase of a wireless video surveillance system to help reduce crime in a public housing project and a marina. Western Digital and Hitachi, Ltd. announced recently that they have entered into a definitive agreement whereby WD will acquire Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., in a cash and stock transaction valued at approximately $4.3 billion.
