Matrox Graphics announced the Maevex 5100 Series video over IP solution that started shipping mid-April, priced for unprecedented price-performance value. Samples are currently available upon request to qualified AV/IT resellers and system integrators. Maevex enables the extension of Full HD quality video over standard IP networks for digital signage, collaborative video walls, manufacturing and automation, process control and many other applications. Maevex encoders and decoders capture, stream, decode video from a variety of sources and even allow for software-based decoding on non-Maevex devices. Maevex units come bundled with PowerStream software, allowing for easy remote management of Maevex devices and enabling a wide variety of user-defined stream-management features. These include adjustable, low bit-rate encoding for minimal and cost-effective bandwidth consumption.

Vicon Industries Inc. has introduced the V920D Series of rugged indoor and outdoor network domes, with a choice of standard definition, 720p and 1080p resolutions. These open-platform cameras represent a new generation of Roughneck domes, offering ONVIF compatibility, higher resolutions and a lower price than previously available models. Like all Roughnecks, they are designed for harsh environments. These domes are IP 66-rated and have an IK 10 impact protection rating. The V920D high-performance cameras transmit H.264 high-profile, MPEG-4 and M-JPEG compressed video with dual or triple streaming. Features include motion detection, privacy masking, 2-way audio and an SD card slot for on-camera storage.

Industrial Video and Control (IVC) has developed a new hydrocarbon leak detection camera (model FV-3532-01). It provides high-quality thermal images and is designed to detect pipeline and tank leakages of a variety of hydrocarbon products including propane, gasoline and diesel. The camera can be programmed to monitor up to four detection zones. In addition to providing the initial notification of a leak, the FV-3532-01 can provide visual confirmation of alarms from other leak detection devices. A new line of Hemispheric Cameras by Vicon Industries Inc. provides high-resolution and continuous 180 or 360 degree coverage. An integral fisheye lens and 4 megapixel sensor captures a complete 360 degree view that is delivered as two 180 degree, panoramic images visually stacked on top of each other within a single video stream. All de-morphing is performed within the cameras prior to transmission, so a distortion-free image is delivered to the VMS ready for live display and recording. The cameras transmit a choice of H.264, MPEG-4 SP and M-JPEG compressions with dual streaming.

When dangerous amounts of CO are detected, the System Sensor CO1224T and CO1224TR (round) CO detectors alert residents by sounding and flashing a temp 4 signal alarm. With 24/7 central station monitoring, residents are guaranteed protection whether they are away from home, sleeping or already suffering from the effects of CO. The CO1224T and CO1224TR CO detectors include RealTest technology, so they can be tested using a CO gas agent, fully meeting the requirements of NFPA 720:2009.
