IdentiSys Announces Acquisition Of CardSmart Systems

IdentiSys Inc., North America’s largest sales and service integrator of identification, tracking and security products, recently announced the acquisition of CardSmart Systems Inc., located in Lisle, Ill., a western suburb of Chicago.

“CardSmart has been the leading reseller of identification and card issuance products in its local areas of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin since it was founded in 2000,” said Debra R. Ferril, president of IdentiSys. “We are committed to delivering the same excellent customer service and support to help organizations improve their security programs.”

With CardSmart’s addition, IdentiSys has expanded its local sales and service operation throughout the midwest, offering end users an expanded portfolio of products and systems.

IdentiSys specializes in identification technologies and applications (including photo ID systems, access control, tracking and first responder accountability solutions), along with production printing, mailing and fulfillment systems. Gebco of Hawaii, a division of IdentiSys, is the leading supplier in the Hawaiian Islands of photo ID systems, binding, lamination and shredders.

“As CardSmart’s founder, it was important to me to ensure the best acquisition fit for CardSmart colleagues and customers upon my retirement,” said Rick Stillwell, president and CEO of CardSmart Systems. “I am confident this change will only make CardSmart stronger and better able to provide customers with industry leading products supported by the highest level of service.”

“We are very pleased to welcome CardSmart to the IdentiSys family,” said Michael R. Shields, founder and CEO of IdentiSys. “I know we can build on CardSmart’s sound foundation and provide customers more choices for their organizations from a wide variety of industry-leading brands.”
