AMAG Technology Helps Secure PalmettoNet Remote Data Centers
PalmettoNet, one of the largest providers of digital fiber optic network transport in the Carolinas, has partnered with ITC Solutions, a division of International Tela-Com, Inc. to install an AMAG Technology Symmetry Security Management System.
The Symmetry Business Security Management System will secure PalmettoNet’s remote data centers throughout the Carolinas. Symmetry Business will manage individual cardholder authorization levels, and track employee and contractor access. Twenty-two sites are now fully operational, with additional sites soon to be completed.
“AMAG’s Symmetry Business access control system allows us to deliver a cost-effective and reliable security management solution to provide PalmettoNet the security and peace of mind they need,” said ITC Solutions’ Director of Sales and Engineering, Bill Braasch.
“By installing Symmetry, PalmettoNet is able to leverage our existing resources to secure our extensive network,” said PalmettoNet Operations Manager, Kevin Comalander. “We now have an easy-to-use, reliable, and affordable security solution.”
The PalmettoNet network covers the Carolinas with more than 4,300 fiber route miles. PalmettoNet leases capacity to all prominent telecommunications carriers providing SONET and Ethernet transport services in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
The network is maintained by more than 100 fully trained field support professionals, with additional engineers and support staff based at their headquarters in Columbia, S.C.
