Jumping Across The Pond For Security

We’re doing something new this year, all in part because we believe security is as much a global concern as it is personal. For the first time in the 12 years Security Products has been published, we’re attending IFSEC.
This is my first post from Birmingham, England, and I’ll have two more as the tradeshow unfolds. I hope to have a couple of podcasts to go along with the next two e-newsletters -- the next one will be in your mailbox on Wednesday and the final installment will arrive Friday.
A couple products I’ve found interesting thus far is the IP camera range shown by Basler. This is only the second year for Basler to attend IFSEC, but this year the company is bring an entire range of IP cameras with true day-and-night functionality. Why I like this camera is because it is equipped with an automatically removable IR cut filter, along with functions that support customized resolutions and frame rates.
The camera also is supportive especially in the bank and transportation industries.
Here’s a product that will grab you by the fingers. L-1 Enterprise Access Solutions is introducing its V-Flex 4G and V-Station 4G, a new generation platform that redefines fingerprint authentication. It works, especially for time and attendance, because it has a large template capacity. It also is equipped with field replacement sensors and wireless Ethernet.
The first day of the show seems a rousing success, but now it’s time to kick back and find a quiet pub for some fish and chips. Who knows, maybe I’ll bump into the Queen and Prince Charles. While it seems unlikely for a royal encounter, I’ll keep my eyes and ears alert for more great product reviews fora general report on Wednesday from IFSEC.
Wish me luck on the fish and chips. I’ll talk to you again Wednesday morning. Tallyho!
