'Safe School' Website Live, Supports National Safety Week
Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies has created a new “safe school” micro-site within its Website to show support to schools during National Safe School Week, Oct. 17-23. The new site includes four sections: Safe School Activities, Safety and Security, Facts about School Safety, and Resources.
“We felt that it was very important to support this special week by creating a website full of helpful information and ideas concerning school safety for principals, security/safety directors and superintendents,” said Beverly Vigue, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies vice president, education markets. “Since there is so much information that is valuable beyond National School Safety Week, we plan to keep the site live until at least the end of this year.”
The Safe School Activities section targets specific pages to students and staff, the community at large and another for emergency responder. Among the activities listed is how to start a “safe home” program, which provides a haven for children who are endangered or need assistance.
The Safety and Security section covers risk mitigation, prospective seminars and security solutions. The Facts section includes statistics such as 1.3 million high school students are threatened or injured with weapons on school property at least once every year. The Resources section provides more than two dozen links to other sites ranging from the Federal Grant Program to DARE.
Ingersoll Rand’s Security Technologies' products include electronic and biometric access control systems; time-and-attendance and personnel scheduling systems; mechanical locks; portable security; door closers, exit devices, architectural hardware, and steel doors and frames; and other technologies and services.
